Chef Enrique Urrutia, a Mexico City native, began his culinary journey when he immigrated to the Mission District of San Francisco, California at the age of 17. Chef Urrutia has more than 25 years of culinary training with mentors Michael Mina and Judy Rogers in the kitchens of Aqua, Zuni Café and Gary Danko. Inspired by the flavors of Peru, Mexico, Argentina and fusing them with Asian and Mediterranean flavors, Chef Urrutia opened La Fusión alongside his longtime friend and mentor, Executive Chef Javier Madero. La Fusión was an immediate success in the competitive scene in San Francisco, it was featured in Saga Magazine “Best 100 restaurants in San Francisco” and awarded the “Best Ceviche outside of Peru” from the LA Times within its first two years of operations. His latest success is Bravazo Rotisserie in Legacy Food Hall, where he has introduced Plano, Texas to the powerful flavors of Latin America.
