The Southwest Region of American Music Therapy Association Conference

Published by Diana Crawford on: May 16, 2019 — Music Therapy

The Southwestern Region of the American Music Therapy Association hosted another exceptionally fun and educational music therapy conference attended by 250 professionals and students in Georgetown, Texas in March.

This year's music therapists participated in a Music Therapy Advocacy Day at the Capital to work towards state recognition. KidLinks showed our dedication to music therapy by providing the lanyards worn by all 250 therapists at the conference.

KidLinks Chief Program Officer, Jim Newton, shook hands with students, old friends and other professionals while manning the KidLinks booth. As we strive to make the KidLinks platform a place of collaboration and engagement, it has become easy to share our music resources.

Great news, the study bill #HB787 passed 96 to 50 in the House on Monday, April 15, 2019. This bill is related to a study on the state certification of music therapists. The work that the Task Force and Texas MT-BCs continue to do is incredible.
