Message from KidLinks' CEO

Published by Diana Crawford on: Mar 26, 2020 — General

Dear friends and supporters of KidLinks,

KidLinks continues to closely monitor the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak and respond in step with the recommendations of federal and state authorities. As such, we have taken action and paused our hospital visits and direct music therapy services to protect the health of our clients and their families. While our offices may be closed, our team is working remotely to continue to provide the KidLinks music and resources children, hospital staff, music therapists and the public have grown to love.

The good news is that while our in-person hospital visits and music therapy direct services have temporarily ceased, kidlinks.org, third-party music subscription services, like Spotifyand Apple Music, and our YouTube channel, enable our music and resources to be shared anytime, anywhere. We are working hard to share content specific to meeting the needs of hospitalized and homebound children and to provide fun resources and activities around the songs as a resource for parents.

We truly believe our online platform can be a voice for the power of music in today’s crazy world! As such, we are focusing on several themes, including: Coping Skills, Relaxation, Friendship, Self-esteem, Kindness and Inclusion. We are also featuring a bedtime playlist to help children wind down after an action-packed day! We invite you to follow us on social media where our Facebook and Instagram posts provide more information and additional resources you can share with your families.

KidLinks remains committed to our mission to link kids to healing, hope and happiness through music and media. Your support is essential to ensuring we can continue to develop digital content, as well as our music therapy programs, in order to provide hope for all children, no matter what life circumstance they are experiencing.

From the KidLinks family to yours, we are grateful for your ongoing support and pray you stay healthy and safe during these unpredictable times.

I want to leave you with a video from Jim and Paul...One Day at a Time is a catchy tune composed by Bill Thomas and performed in the Child Life Zone inside Cook Children’s to help their patients feel better! Hope it helps you too!
