2021 is finally here! I think this year especially, everyone is excited to have a fresh start and to move past the difficulties of 2020. Just as some adults like to have a fresh start, this can be a great topic to address with kiddos as well. As mentioned in previous blog posts, time is always a great way to incorporate new themes all the while, teaching kiddos about the concept of time as well. It may still be winter, but helping kiddos learn that another year has passed, and it is now a new year can help reinforce that concept of time. I love incorporating songs about what month it is and various characteristics of that month. With it being January, it’s the first month of a new year and that’s something we can all get excited about! In this blog post, I created an original song entitled, “January” (lyrics posted in video below) that talks about just that. I also created a new Boom Card to go along with the song that kids can engage with as you sing the song.
