Sometimes identifying colors is a goal that we focus on with clients in music therapy, which is exactly what I had in mind when creating this month’s blog post. I was trying to find an interactive seasonal aid that I could use to reinforce color identification. I typically use Boom Cards to create interactive aids, but I started to dabble with Google Slides and thought this would be a great change. I really enjoyed using Google Slides because I feel as though it gives you more options with the graphics. Nowadays with virtual sessions become more of the norm, it’s great to have as many options when it goes to digital visual aids. In a way, digital visual aids offer a type of engagement that the typical paper visual aids don’t. Kids are so used to animated videos and screen time, in a way it’s nice to incorporate that into our sessions because it’s something that our clients use in their daily lives. We hope you give this a try in your sessions and let us know how it goes!
